Japanese Tea Class

For the last four hundred years in Japan, a way of life has existed connected to the ceremonial drinking of tea. This is called Cha No Yu: Literally hot water for tea or Chado, the way of tea.

Join us and begin to master the art of making a delicious bowl of powdered green tea (matcha) and enjoy a traditional wagashi (tea sweet) with us on Sunday, October 27th at 1:00 pm.

This workshop will focus on the easy steps required to make a perfect bowl of tea. We will review techniques, tools and history in order to gain an understanding of what it takes to make a beautiful bowl of matcha.

This class will be taught by Christopher Ezzell, who has studied Chado with the Urasenke School of Tea since 2006 in both Seattle and Japan.
