Comfort Foods: Vegan Soups and Stews

In the winter, with the colder weather, we need a diet that creates more heat, so let’s embrace the gifts of the season and nourish ourselves, body, mind, and spirit with these curries and soups of hearty vegetables and warming spices.

Vashon’s own culinary artisan and naturalist, Emilia Flor Vogt, will show us how to make a Moroccan Stew, a Kale and Butternut Squash Curry, and Coconut Miso Soup with Yams and Kale.

We’ll also enjoy accompaniments of Indian Spiced Greens, a Salad of Basil, Roasted Beets, and Greens along with Millet with Spinach and Spicy Toasted Pumpkin Seeds.
